BILL CLINTON My Life **

In small doses this is really interesting - but there's much too much detail, Bill, which is why your book consists of 1000 pages of small print, which in the end defeated me. Didn't you have an editor? You don't need a brief biography of everyone you ever shared a car, a dinner table, or a meeting with, because it really holds up the narrative.

But it was quite instructive to find out, for instance, how most of the people he appointed to the White House and other government jobs were people he knew beforehand and who had proved themselves in comparatively small jobs.

And no, I didn't get as far as the bit about Monica Lewinsky.

Still, you can't help wishing he was still in the White House instead of the current incumbent. The world would feel a safer place.
I'll probably come back to it.
