We went to see this revival of Matthew Bourne's modern ballet as our annual grown-ups' Christmas panto and were somewhat underwhelmed - John especially.It has a great reputation and had great reviews, but so much emphasis is put on the very silly story that you can't just sit back and listen to the music and be mesmerised by the dancing.
Having said all that there were some spectacular sets and some good jokes, but it wasn't a patch on his Swan Lake.
