100 life-size cast-iron figures all looking out to sea on Crosby beach near Liverpool... It's breathtaking and if you're anywhere near you must go.When I saw them it must have been near high tide, and although you could walk up to some of them others were up to their necks in water.
The title 'Another Place' gets you thinking. Are all these figures looking back with regret to some other place they've left? Or ET-like are they waiting for loved ones from afar to join them? Whatever the answer the sight of them all has great emotional clout.
I went with colleagues from work, during a break in filming at Southport, and we all loved this work.
