MUSEE DU QUAI BRANLY***

We visted this brand new Paris museum with John's nephew and his wife, who live at Versailles.

Opened by President Chirac in June, it's dedicated to primitive art (although you're not supposed to call it that any more) from Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas - presumably stuff which the French filched during their colonial days.

The artefacts are quite interesting, but the most impressive things are the building, its grounds and the lighting. It stands almost literally in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower and looks stunning.
