PHILIP ROTH Everyman **

Lots of eminent reviewers have raved about how this novella is a late masterpiece from the great man. Hmm. The emperor's new clothes came to mind for me.

It's the sad story of an elderly and frequently unpleasant man recalling all the times he's been ill and facing death and the ultimate decay of his unreliable body. Whoopee.
